What to charge.

Be it World of Warcraft or Screen Actors, I’m not a huge fan of guilds. One guild has produced a very valuable resource for all you artists, illustrators, and website designers out there.

If you’re like me, and I know I am, you may be a little perplexed when it comes to deciding on what to charge a client for your work. Luckily, the Graphic Artists Guild releases a pricing and ethics guideline. The GAG handbook covers universally excepted pricing structures for “small”, “medium”, and “large” sized clients. You’ll also get a wealth of information on copyright law and all the legal documents, resources, and contracts you could ever want. Even if you only freelance one or two jobs a year, It pays for itself. You can order a copy from the GAG website or you can buy the GAG Handbook from amazon (of course).
