
I’ve been doing some sculpting lately and going through the inevitable internet knowledge harvesting.
While lurking around the conceptart.org forums, I found a great tutorial on building a sculpting stage with armature support. Total cost for all the parts will run you about 6$. The complete tutorial, in both .PDF and video format, can be found at isculpt.org. The site is still in it’s infancy and hasn’t officially launched yet, but it looks to be very promising.
Having a place to mount a perfectly good piece of clay will make it easier much for me to ruin.

If you want to get started in HDRI lighting for your 3D renders, you’ll need a light probe. Simply put, a light probe is a mirrored ball. They come in two varieties, glass and stainless steel. Finding the mirrored ball is easy. Just hit Google and search for “gazing balls.” Once you have procured your light probe you may want to build a mount for it to secure it to your tripod.
